I don’t know about you but nothing cheers me up like shopping and sweet treats. My approach to retail therapy is much like this Oscar Wilde quote,”Crying is for plain women. Pretty women go shopping.” It was a rainy day and I was not really feeling well as I walk through dreary rain soaked streets I notice there are not much people out and about on what would usually be a very busy E.59th Street. I eventually make my way to Dylan’s Candy Bar where upon entering my mood is instantly changed. The smell of cotton candy is in the air everywhere and it was like aromatherapy. A bright and cheerful atmosphere instantly uplifts my mood and distracts me from my current aches and pains.
This store is definitely an experience and is a one stop of cool gifts for everyone you could think of in your life. There is more than candy but everything is definitely candy-inspired! My favorite discovery was the baby section that included clothing as well as strollers. I kind of thought great gift for my cousin that just had a baby. It is the kind of gift that says I will spoil you rotten, introduce to a sugar rush and then return you to your parents kind of girl! If you love a good sleepover you can get candy covered pajamas that you can tote to your bestie’s house in Dylan’s Candy Bar logo tote.
Dylan’s Candy Bar is such a great experience which is something I have not experienced in a while because I have turned into a mostly online shopper. This experience took my attitude from a Sour Patch Kid to a Jolly Rancher! It reminded me of the joy of being a kid in a candy store. Well before I left I asked a cashier which of the chocolate bars I should try, and he said Dylan’s Chocolate Potato Chip bars so I got four plus I like the salty and sweet thing.
